Common WordPress problems we fix
Errors after an update
A WordPress, theme or plugin update has caused a critical error message, a blank white page or a site that will not load at all.
Plugin conflicts
Two plugins do not work together, a page builder has stopped loading, or a plugin has changed how parts of the site look.
Contact forms not sending
Enquiries are not arriving in your inbox, or they arrive in spam, because the site is not set up to send email reliably.
WooCommerce checkout problems
Orders failing at checkout, payment gateways not connecting, or tax and shipping being calculated incorrectly.
Slow pages
Pages that take a long time to load, often because of large images, too many plugins or caching that is not set up.
Security warnings and hacked sites
A browser warning that the site is not secure, a certificate that has expired, or unfamiliar content and redirects appearing on your pages.
Layout problems on phones
Text that runs off the screen, menus that do not open or images that are too large on phones and tablets.
Content and page changes
Updating text, images, menus and pages when the site was built by someone else and you are not sure how it fits together.
If your problem isn’t listed, describe it in your own words when you send your request and we’ll tell you whether we can help.
How access works on WordPress
You set up access once for each website. It stays in place, so the next time you need help we can start without asking again.
- 1You tell us your website address when you send your request.
- 2We send you a link to your own WordPress dashboard, where WordPress asks whether you want to allow WebFixed to connect.
- 3You click Approve. WordPress creates an application password for WebFixed, which only works for us and only for your site.
You never share your own password. You can remove our access at any time from your WordPress profile, under Application Passwords.
WordPress questions
Will you need my WordPress password?
No. You approve WebFixed from your own dashboard, and WordPress creates a separate application password for us. You can revoke it from your profile page whenever you like.
Do you work on WooCommerce shops?
Yes. We fix checkout, payment, shipping and product problems on WooCommerce, as well as the WordPress site it runs on.
My site shows a critical error. Can you still get in?
Often, yes. If the dashboard will not load, we will ask for access to your hosting account or talk you through the steps to get the site back up.
Will you update my plugins?
We can, as a one-off fix or as part of the Managed plan, which includes plugin, theme and WordPress updates each month. We take a backup first.
